398. Pressure Point Cramp Relief
Have you ever been hit with sudden cramps in a public setting and didn't know what to do? There's a simple trick that could help you find relief almost instantly.
The Hack: Press and rub in circles in the webbing area between your thumb and index finger (the red "O" in the picture above).
Why It Works: This area is known as the Hegu or LI4 pressure point in traditional Chinese medicine and is used to stimulate your body's natural pain relief mechanisms. When you press on this point, it can send signals to your brain to release endorphins, which are natural painkillers.
399. Safe Online Selling Meet-Ups
Selling items online can be convenient, but meeting strangers to complete the transaction can sometimes feel a little risky. Here's a simple way to ensure your safety during these exchanges.
The Hack: Arrange to meet up and exchange cash and items at your local police station.
Why It Works: The US and Canada have a SafeTrade program that allows online sales transactions to be conducted in front of police stations. These locations are considered safe zones because they are monitored and have a law enforcement presence, and who the heck is going to try anything fishy out front of a police station!
400. Protect Your iPhone With This Siri Command
Imagine someone grabs your iPhone and tries to unlock it using FaceID by pointing it at your face. There's a clever way to prevent them from accessing your phone.
The Hack: All you have to do is simply say, “Hey Siri, who's phone is this?”
Why It Works: This phrase will cause Siri to disable FaceID temporarily. Once disabled, the only way to unlock your phone will be via your passcode. This feature is particularly useful in situations where you might be coerced into unlocking your phone.
