LIFE HACK #112

For the perfect fries (crispy on the outside and tender on the inside) here's a simple little trick: Slice your potatoes and soak them in cold water BEFORE you start cooking them.

Why? It's all about the starch. As the slices chill, starches escape into the water, ensuring your fries stay soft on the inside. This technique guarantees a delightful contrast—crispy perfection on the outside and that melt-in-your-mouth goodness within. Enjoy!

LIFE HACK #113

The next time you're at the library just remember that librarians aren't just random people who work there. They're professional researchers who are there to help you find a place to start researching a topic.

Their wealth of information is your gateway to unlocking the treasures of the library. Librarians are trained to:

  1. Conduct efficient searches

  2. Navigate databases

  3. Evaluate sources

  4. Recommend relevant materials

Services they provide:

  1. Reference assistance

  2. Information literacy sessions

  3. Interlibrary loans

  4. Specialized research guidance

LIFE HACK #114

Hunger is your bodies way of measuring how soon you should eat, not how much you should eat. A lot of people have this backwards.

When we're hungry, the body releases ghrelin, the hunger hormone. Its primary job is signalling the brain that it's time to eat. However, this doesn't correlate with needing a large meal.

Research shows that eating in response to intense hunger often leads to overconsumption. Instead, it's about responding promptly to the hunger cue with a balanced meal.
